NLPOA Wichita/Sedgwick County. KS. Chapter

 

The NLPOA Wichita/Sedgwick County, Kansas. Chapter was founded in 2003 by Detective Edwin “The Shark” Melon.

Since then we have participated in several Community educational programs and on Law Enforcement activities. These are some examples:

 

2003

      

Detective Salcido conducting the first bilingual gang conference in Wichita.

 

Secretary Machain, Board of Education Member Mrs. Schodorf, KS. Legislator Delia Garcia, City Council Member Sharon Fearey, and President Melon attended the conference.

 Partnering with Via-Christi                           Providing Public Service Announcements

       prevention & Health Centers                         on local Spanish radio with District Attorney.

                           to provide senior health lectures

                           on senior physical fitness

                           and overall wellness.

   2004/2005 helping our Department encouraging our officers to continually train we contributed to the Wichita Police           Department K-9 fund as well as the annual Wichita Police Department fun shoot Competition.
